please.

I don't want to grow up. I want to stay young and innocent and sweet. I don't want more responsibility. Quite frankly, I won't know what to do with it. I just want to love and be loved. I want to know that everything will be okay.

he's the reason i wake up.

I'm pretty sure that Jack Johnson is the legit reason that I'm awake. I listen to his music all day errrr day.

So, how's your summer?
Well, tomorrow, I'm cutting up a frog. Thats the wonderful thing known as summer biology.
Yes, I attend summer school.
No, I am not stupid.

I don't have a job, so I'm broke. I'm a 5'3" blonde girl who spends all her time rowing and reading romantic novels that were plucked innocently from the shelf at the library. I dig the guitar. Someday, I'm going to live in New York, and write for somebody, or maybe myself. I don't know. I'm only fifteen.

I'm about ten pages away from finishing The Notebook. Such a frivolous something. I should be reading Great Gatsby, but unfortunately, I have misplaced it, so the love story wins. And then, after that, on to another love story.

It seems slightly odd, reading all these love stories.
I like them because I don't have a love life.
I'm in love with a camera. And the knowledge that people like Jack Johnson exist in this world.

LOVE LOVE LOVE.

I'm going to this concert on Sunday. I'm well assured that it is going to be
          completely and
                    totally
                              AMAZING.

I've been in love with Jack Johnson's music since I was five years old. I'm fifteen now...so that's...ten years?! Wow, man, wow.

I'm so insanely excited. It's just....gah! I saw him in 2008 on his Sleep Through the Static tour. I had the perfect seats. Back then, I was approximately four feet tall, so the people behind my cousins (who are also short) and I didn't mind that we stood on the seats.

He actually blew my mind. And ROGUE WAVE opened for him, which completed me, because, at the time, I only knew one song, but now they are one of my favorites. Here they are. Right here. It's a tad weird, but whatever. I happen to LOVE THIS SONG.

musical pursuits...first round.

like random?

One month into summer. Wow. Really?

So, what have I accomplished? Well, I've got a WICKED rowing tan. I'm talking the shoulders, the arms, the legs (especially) and the whole enchilada.

oh, and sorry this is belated.

HAPPY INDIE DAY.

Please have a good listen to this. Juliana Daily is perfect.

NOM.

I'm just going to post a whole summer playlist....for posts to come.

and all that we don't say.

run with me, wild and free.

I'm not really sure how to handle this. Sophomores? Already? What?
When did I get so old? When did everything start becoming different? Why did people change?

Why are some of my friends not friendly anymore?

Somehow, in this crazy, mixed-up jumble known as life, shit happened. And, shit is happening. And shit is going to happen.

Its upsetting. I've had friends for years. Now? I rarely break into a smile when I see them. I haven't spoken to some "friends" in over a month. Some friends just forget about you as they get caught up in the excitement of new friends. Yet, everyone tries to forget about what is going on. They try to forget about everything that they don't like, and what they think shouldn't be happening, and they try to twist it into something lovable.

It's really difficult to grow up. There's so much to do, and so little time. I find that every day, I say to myself, "God, Steph, you're almost in college." And I'll admit, I do overreact a little to my growing age. I look at...elderly people and it freaks me out somewhat. To know that someday I'll be just like that...it's scary shit.

I guess, in this haphazard group of words, I'm trying to say something. Life is worth living, yes, but sometimes, you just get so caught up in trying to live that you forget about everything else, and while the mere thought of forgetting about everything and just living life to the fullest sounds absolutely beautiful, the important things get left behind.

So, to all of you (really. please tell me who you are.), just try not to grow up too fast, okay?

you make me melt, adam.

an experimentation with exposure and teen chat lingo...oh dear.

So....are you excited that it's summer?!

WELL, guess what. Biology started. We have a quiz EVERY SINGLE DAY and I have no idea what we're learning. This'll be a fun five weeks.

But, on the bright side, I still have my camera. Which means photography. Which is my life, pretty much. So enjoy some pretty pictures. (My friend Jenna is sitting next to me. Her words on my words. "Wow, you're artsy.)

(I think she was being sarcastic.)

This would be my cousin. He's playing 007. It's kinda sorta maybe the greatest video game series to ever hit the shelves of Game Stop. Besides Star Wars Battlefront II.

And THIS is my puppity pup pup. Her name is Lady.

Because who needs faces? LYKE, FOR REALZIEZ.

A power outage down the shore means fun times with exposure times! This one is sixty-seconds.

Helping friends is fun. Painting walls is fun.
HELPING FRIENDS PAINT WALLS IS FUN.

Gosh. Why are my friends so cutesy-wootsey?

And we'll finish it out with some M!RR0R SH0TZ LIKE HAYYY!
lyke srsly.
LOL JK.

Okay. I'm done now. I promise.
Peace out, brussels sprout.

Corey Vidal, everyone.

So, in the slight case that you've been living under a rock and have never ever EVER heard of Corey Vidal (shame on you!), then, well, that sucks.

But fear not, people (seriously, who are you? comment and tell me who you are, or if you're even there.), I bring you great YouTube-ness. Please enjoy the video stylings of Corey Vidal.

Now, there's some food for thought. He's a pretty cool guy. And if you want to see his YouTube story, then here it is. It's actually very interesting. He makes all of his money off of YouTube, and it saved his life, actually. It's really long, but really really cool. I watched the whole thing, though. Chew on that. So, here....check it.

Meow.
May the Force be with you.

Whoever said you shouldn't play with your food obviously never met these guys.

mmmmm DELICIOUS.

It's just like one of those cakes on those Food Network Challenges where they all make extremely cool cakes!....and then they get 10,000 if they win. But really they just do it to make cakes.

GAH. They know how to appeal to the gamer audience.

pandapandapandapandapanda.

sexy.

as unappetizing as this looks....its still the best book ever.
(in case you didn't get it, its The Devil Wears Prada.)

Summer is fast approaching.

These Russians get more and more artsy every day.

And now, here's some pictures from the second to last day of school.

during the extensive process of cleaning out our lockers. My dear friend, Marina, and I hugged it out
after she discovered that her beautiful photo was going to be published in the school literary magazine.

And this is Lizzie. We had a free period before the end of the day, so we had some fun playing around
with my camera.

and this is Liz. She's a beautiful singer.

and you already know Jenna. she's sipping a Wawa slushie with class.

and I had a really great conversation about running with my best friend.

SO NOW. ONE HALF DAY LEFT.
Summer is almost here. almost. I can TASTE It.

Monday, June 7, 2010

stop the season stop the sting.

So, what am I going to do with myself ALLLLLL summer?
blog.  all day, every day. or maybe not. its just a way to get my energy out.

so, here's a song that the world needs to hear.

and in the DAYLIGHT we could hitchhike to maine.

"we cut the legs off of our pants
threw our shoes into the ocean
sit back and wave through the daylight
sit back and wave through the daylight

slip and slide on subway grates
these shoes are poor mans ice skates
fall through like change in the daylight
fall through like change in the
daylight

i miss yellow lines in my roads
some color on monochrome
maybe i’ll paint them in myself
maybe i’ll paint them in myself

these sidewalks liquid then stone
building walls and an old pay phone
it rings like all through the daylight
it rings like all through the daylight

and in the daylight we can hitchhike to maine
i hope that someday i’ll see without these frames
and in the daylight i don’t pick up my phone
cause in the daylight anywhere feels like home

I have five clocks in my life
and only one has the time right
i’ll just unplug it for today
ill just unplug it for today

open hydrant rolled down windows
this car might make a good old boat
and float down grand street in daylightand float down grand street in daylight

and with just half of a sunburn
new yellow lines that i earned
step back and here comes the night time
step back and here comes the night time

and in the daylight we can hitchhike to maine
i hope that someday i’ll see without these frames
and in the daylight i don’t pick up my phone
cause in the
daylight anywhere feels like home"

at the beginning of the summer

Well, yesterday was a hot damn party, I must say. Three of my closest friends and I had a fun time taking pictures while we were down the shore.

Pictures such as...

this one....we like to hang on stuff.

and this one...gosh i sure love my t-shirt.

and this one....i don't even think i took this, and i don't know who did.

and then we went swinging!

and she's gorgeous?

gun show. bang pow. hot damn.

and then my neighbor's puppy barked at us through the fence!

and she's just the darn cutest thing!

and while Fearless Music was on (at one in the morning), I decided to play around with camera exposure times and got this lovely photograph after one minute of exposure. yeah. it was black when i was looking at it with my own eyes.

So, summer? yes. yes. YES. YES. YES.
I'm just so excited. My rowing starts up again on Tuesday, I think I have a party to attend on Friday, and life is just pretty legitimately swell.

You should all go celebrate summer, whoever you are.
Drink smoothies and watch Hayao Miyazaki movies with your friends.
Trust me. It will feel deliciously wonderful.

summer loving

Well, as of right now, it is summer. No more exams. No more anything. There are two half days of whatever (why do they exist?) between me and freedom. But, I'm pretty close right now. And how do you celebrate the end of exams? Well, first you have a study party...

We all studied outside in the blistering heat the morning of our Latin exam...because we're such overachievers. This was taken by my friend, Mary Kate. She's quite an exceptional photographer.

And this is Mary Kate!

Erin and I....quiz sesh.

and then I started jumping...

and this tree is pretty. And then, after exams were over, I went to a party at my friends house. We had so much fun, including running all over her neighborhood, and finally settling in the park, then outside the water ice shop, and came to the healthy conclusion that we don't like boys because they are morons. But only the boys that we don't like. They weren't so nice to us that night. But, other than that, we actually love the masculine persuasion of people.

Well, first we went to Starbucks and had fun playing with lens caps.

Then, Jenna and I made nachos and watched Across the Universe.

and after that, we went to a party.

and then my friend, Quinn, showed us all of her silly bands.

and then we did some climbing...

and then Jenna explained her dying love for Jesus....

and then all seven of us sat outside of a cafe and discussed our lives, which brings me to this bokeh picture.
 Enjoy your lives.
Have a wonderful summer.
